A common issue with the rover V8 is idle problems, the car can rev at 2000rpm when coasting down and on some cars hang there for a while after you have stopped. What the resrictor does is reduce the amount of air allowed to bypass the butterfly so the engine canot rev past a limit that we set with the std restrictor hole size. |

Rover V8 engine mount restraint bracket |

Our engine mount restraints were developed to overcome standard mount failure when subjected to high performance applications. The standard engine mount sitting within the restraint is prevented from excess movement due to high engine torque application. Excess movement of the standard mount due to engine torque application causes it fail due to tear and shear stresses allowing the engine to drop within the chassis causing damage to the engines ancillary equipment.
