A common issue with the rover V8 is idle problems, the car can rev at 2000rpm when coasting down and on some cars hang there for a while after you have stopped. What the resrictor does is reduce the amount of air allowed to bypass the butterfly so the engine canot rev past a limit that is set with the standard restrictor hole size. |
